The newest addition to the Futbus Fleet is an ex-Swedish doublecab pick up

We have just aquired a swedish doublecab syncro. Its a 1991 with a 2.1 MV engine with just 137000km on the clock. It comes as a 1 owner from new as this was owned by one company in sweden. Twin diff locks fitted and heated drivers seat, used to have a petrol heater but this has been removed sometime in its history. It has had a bit of a bash on the nearside which is probably why it was sent to auction. It runs and drives very well, with only a few minor problems, these are the wiper spindles are siezed and the drivers door lock mechanism is also siezed, diff locks not working but probably due to standing for a few years and lack of use when in service.

The Plan

To revamp the van, including a suspension overhaul, a rebuilt gearbox as the current one has to go into another van. The damaged panel will be replaced with a panel cut from another van, rebuild the engine top end as a precaution, powdercoat to some of the parts and a respray on the top. May get a disc conversion but have to wait and see on that one.

To Start

We had to rip out the engine and box, as we need the box for another van, the photos show what the engine and box look like out of the van and the engine protection fitted to a petrol syncro.
